This training introduces the fundamental concepts of Household Water Treatment and Safe Storage (HWTS) with focus on Biosand Filter technology. The training provides an introduction to Biosand Filter, the Multi-Barrier Approach to safe drinking water, and implementation of the Biosand Filters.
The role of the Community WASH Promoter is essential for successfully implementing any household water treatment, sanitation, or hygiene (WASH) project. Through this workshop, participants will gain a clear understanding of the best practices for supporting community members in changing their behaviors of WASH practices to achieve improved community livelihoods. The workshop then covers more technical aspects of WASH, with a focus on household water and safe storage and handling technologies of water, and the importance of sanitation, hygiene issues, members of the community. and the importance of the inclusion of every member of the community. The last stage of this workshop is very practical and outlines the steps and effective strategies for working with households and community members.
Ce cours en présentiel présente les concepts fondamentaux du traitement de l'eau à domicile et du stockage (CTED) par le biais des modules interactifs en présentiel. The Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church Development Commission (EKHCDC) and the Center for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology (CAWST) are pleased to invite WASH practitioners, private sector suppliers, community leaders, and development organizations to a Learning Exchange (LEX) Event focused on strengthening the adoption and sustainability of Household Water Treatment and Safe Storage (HWTS).This collaborative event brings together key stakeholders from across the WASH system to:✅ Explore sustainable strategies for scaling up HWTS solutions✅ Address supply chain challenges to improve access to water treatment technologies✅ Foster meaningful collaboration between local organizations and private sector actors✅ Share insights and lessons from past and ongoing HWTS efforts
